Custom 1911 is finished!

by 7. October 2010 23:05

Back in July, I went to spend some time with Dave Erickson of Condition One (www.conditionone.us) with Mers from Advanced Armament to built a custom 1911. If you look back on previous blog posts, you will see some of the progress we made while we were there. After we finished the gun, half of it went to one place to be hard chromed, the other half went to another place for Ion Bond. After the half that came back from Ion Bond was returned, Dave sent the sights off to Trijicon for Tritium vials. Once that was done the gun was reassembled, test fired and zero'd. Then, it was finally boxed up and sent to me. I got it on Tuesday and shot it immediately. It was great, very solid and smooth. I can sit and tell you how much I love the gun, but I'll let the photo's speak for themselves. I am really happy with this 1911. It is exactly what I had in mind when we all set out to build it. I could not be more pleased.
