Hi this is Martin posting under Neils account.  We've been Meaning to update this Blog more often but we've just been so dang busy lately.  One thing we've been up to is the EAG tactical class we took in Congaree, SC Neil Myself (Martin), and some friends/customers Mason, Hugh, Sam. Took the Carbine operators course in Congaree, SC.  Here is an AAR and some pics and video.  for a Full AAR http://lightfighter.net/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/458100756/m/92320975563?r=92320975563#92320975563

Awesome Time! The Gun Gallery/Jax crew was in full force and havin' fun.

Pre Class: Gear seminar was a good time and I learned a few new things about the products we sell and about of course Whale's seeing in infrared. Afterwards we commenced with Thai and some drinks followed by some beers in the lobby with the guys. Swapping stories and the like. The Swag was overflowing.

Gear: Paraclete SOHPC with plates and three ITW fast mags filled with Pmags Camelback hydration bladder in a hydrastorm hydration carrier. also a blue force gear Trauma kit now and a SOC-T tourniquet on my shoulder. Belt: US Grunt Gear Infidel belt with triple mag pouch and triple handgun mag pouch. EAG Dump pouch, Admin Butt Pack, Multi-Cam silencer pouch for M4-2000 Raven concealment Phantom LC with Glock 19 and X-300.

Guns: Custom 10.5 with MK18 rail and plenty of other good stuff and an Aimpoint, A Noveske Light Recce S/B and ACOG, and Glock 19 with X-300 and Warren tactical two dots.

TD-1 was cold. I'm from Florida, I hate the cold but the sun did come out and it warmed up a bit. The first portion of the morning was partially spent on lectures. With a fair amount of jokes to keep things fun and the learning commenced. Shortly after we had a quick BZO at the 50. Once we started doing drills I was quickly noticed for my quick activation of the safety and my tendency to not let the gun linger on target any longer than it took to complete the drill. The philosophy here is that you may need to re-engage keep the gun up keep sights on target in case you need to re-engage Then search and asses then close the ejection port then turn on the safety. This was a bit foreign for me and I had to remind myself and had to consciously make an effort to do things this way. My accuracy and speed were fair. 9 was noted for shooting the wrong target.

That night we went to Applebees for Dinner had some drinks and dinner.

TD-2 Not as cold as TD-1 but it remained cloudy and never really warmed up. Busy day. Quick BZO and back to drills. We did some Malfunctions clearance. We did some transition to pistol. My sling did some un-hooking and falling to the ground. Though it was my fault for not having locked the sling. Life went on and I went back and forth through some other slings I had but still prefer the MS-2. On one drill I had run out of rounds transitioned to pistol called for check tac loaded my pistol and then reloaded my carbine. Pat saw my empty mag on the deck and asked me why it was there I replied because it was useless. As he was about to yell at me for not transitioning Some of the Jax crew let him no I had indeed transitioned first. I guess I'm just that fast lol. I was still slinging the safety on pretty quick but was mentally making a note of it and doing it less and less. I also tried to not be so quick to bring my pistol back to the Sul (SP?) Accuracy and speed were still good but I was being slower to take the gun out of the fight which is good. We also covered turning from the left to engage and turning from the right to engage something very familiar to me from my Marine Corps. Days. The wave of death is always fun. And my favorite, shooting on the move. I love it because it's hard and because being stationary in a wide open area is a bad Idea. Being able to get effective hits as opposed to throwing lead in a direction is preferred while moving to cover. 9 was noted for shooting the wrong target. My favorite day by far. Had a lot of fun did a lot of shooting took a lot of pictures.

That night we went to Columbia to get some Sushi and have a nice dinner the food was superb and a good time was had by all. We went back to the hotel drank some simmer looked at some of the pictures and video's and made a few gif's and then went to bed.

TD-3 Kinda cold and and the sun was back and forth. Quick BZO and back into training. We did some more drills on the move that included running 25 yards On to qual time and my speed was there however my accuracy had left the building on the mod navy qual. The past two days I had only dropped one each time. This time it was up to seven. and I almost couldn't believe it. Anyway we move on and We're doing the two rounds standing two rounds kneeling drill And for some reason I Put the mag in push pull drop the bolt checked the round and put the mag back in the pouch... just like I had done on the transition to pistol drills earlier. After shooting the first round a light bulb went off I did a quick load and made up the time. Though I'm not sure the accuracy was there. Lesson learned don't let the BS that's about to happen make you do important tasks on auto pilot. First Moose Cock earned. The rest of the qual was ok except when one of the Jax crew decided it was Marathon time while running from the 50-25 and just kept going. Earning him "That Guy" status. After the qual was time for some more fun and some more shooting on the move and the ever popular NSR While doing these final drills the The Jackson(ville) 5 started adding in check drills with our transition to pistol and back onto the carbine.

Overall it was a great class with really good shooters and good attitudes. I've got more things to add into my training. I must say after the Magpul Classes and now this class I'm fully addicted to taking classes They are always a good experience and I always walk away feeling like a better shooter and feel that I've learned something new and relearned the things I've forgotten. It was good meeting new people and putting faces to screen names.

I Have to Say thanks to Pat and Mike for the time and effort and for making it such a fun class to take. And for Taking pictures with my camera. I Definitely look forward to taking another EAG tactical class.
